US Secretary of State under Trump "Pompeo" joins Fox News

Mike Pompeo

Fox News announced that Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State under President Donald Trump, joined the conservative US news network as a "collaborator."

"I will provide viewers with a frank and direct view of the geopolitics, international relations, and" America First "policies that have helped chart a path to unprecedented prosperity and security in the United States, Pompeo said in a statement.

"Mike Pompeo is one of the most well-known and respected voices in the United States on foreign policy and national security issues," said Susan Scott, President of Fox News.

"I look forward to his contributions across our portfolio of platforms, as millions of our viewers share his unique perspective," Scott added.

Pompeo was appointed Secretary of State to succeed Rex Tillerson in April 2018, and he remained in the position until the end of the Trump era in January 2021.

Before that, he was director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Recently, Pompeo joined calls for the United States to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and to those who attacked an expert report on the origin of the Corona virus, considering it part of a "disinformation campaign" by the World Health Organization and the Chinese Communist Party.

Pompeo has been the spearhead in the standoff between the Trump administration and China.

Pompeo remained loyal to Trump until the last minute, and like the former president, he constantly attacked the media.

Fox News has also hired other personalities from around Trump, including his son-in-law and campaign advisor Lara Trump, and former White House press advisor Kylie McNani.
